Floorcloths, important furnishings in the 18th and 19th centuries, are now used to decorate homes with personal style. Local artist Elizabeth Cockey recently led two workshops, discussing the history of the art form, with instruction on how to make one. Participants then worked with a 2’ x 3’ mid-weight canvas, stencils and acrylic paint to create their own treasured pieces.
